Glenn Beck is the Only Nazi in this Equation

The SOB didn't even wait until the bodies were cold. While the rest of the world mourned the dead in Oslo and the massacred in Utoya, Glenn Beck was busy behaving like an ignored toddler, jumping up and down and begging for the media to give him the attention he craves. "Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, Nazis, mom." The massacre in Utoya took place at a youth summer camp for the country's Labor Party. Some six hundred people, most aged between 14 and 25, were gathered for the political retreat, which highlights democracy and democratic participation. The alleged gunman, Anders Behring Breivik, coldly walked through the camp, shooting children who begged for their lives. Some fled to the sea, where they were shot. Others hid in caves, on cliffs, and in some cases, between dead bodies. In all, 68 people, many children, were murdered at the camp. Glenn Beck's obscene response? “As the thing started to unfold and there was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler Youth. Who does a camp for kids that's all about politics? Disturbing,” Beck said. Translation: Maybe those little Nazi kids deserved it. Clearly, Beck does not have a future as a rape counselor. Torbjørn Eriksen, a former press secretary to Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, had this to say about Glenn Beck's verbal diarrhea. "Young political activists have gathered at Utoya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about," he told The Daily Telegraph. "Glenn Beck's comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful." In one simple sentence, Glenn Beck summed up why he is the biggest scumbag of the right-wing media universe. Beck's brain seems tuned to see everything through a Nazi prism. Lewis Black has a famous bit on The Daily Show where he highlights all of the different people and institutions that Beck has compared to Nazis, including: President Obama, the National Endowment for the Arts, the word "empathy", climate change, ACORN, TARP (yes, the bailout program), the Peace Corps, and, most obnoxiously, George Soros. Yes, Glenn Beck called a man who escaped death as a Jewish boy in WWII Europe a Nazi. As Lewis Black suggests, "Glenn Beck has Nazi Tourette's." He just might, since every other word out of his mouth is "Nazi" or "Goebbels". Chef burns dinner? He's a Nazi who can't operate an oven. Glenn Beck gets cut off in traffic? The other driver is an SS Officer awaiting a shipment of Jews. It just goes on and on. Defenders of Beck (I can't believe he has any defenders left, at this point) are quick to say that what Beck really meant was that it is sickening to brainwash children with exposure to propaganda (there's those damn Nazi references again) at such a young age. This, of course, ignores the Beck-tied Tea Party group that runs a political camp for 8-12 year olds. Or, say, the Young Republicans or the Boy Scouts. Or how about the biggest youth brainwashing group in existence, the Christian religion. They run all sorts of propaganda-based youth camps across the country. Many of those even cross over into politics, including some (in the last decade) where kids were forced to pray to giant cutouts of George W. Bush. Are those Nazi, Hitler Youth Camps? Does Glenn Beck even care about the distinction? Ironically, the one person in the entire situation who could conceivably be called a Nazi is...Glenn Beck. He certainly looks the part. He seems to have no soul, considering his first reaction is to immediately slander 68 murdered children. He's got the Goosestepping down pat. He has the uniform. All Glenn Beck needs now is a little more delusion and a lot more paranoia, a mistress and a bunker. He's got the rest of the Nazi bit down just fine.
