OCZ Shares Moving Higher as Co.'s Enterprise Solid State Storage Solutions Will Be Distributed by Tech Data in NA, LatAm

OCZ Technology Group, Inc. OCZ, a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, today announced that it has signed Tech Data Corporation TECD, one of the world's largest wholesale distributors of technology products, services and solutions, to a distribution agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Tech Data's Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division is now authorized to distribute OCZ's complete portfolio of flash-based enterprise and client SSDs and associated software solutions to its sales channel throughout North America and Latin America. "The signing of Tech Data to a platinum distribution agreement is a key milestone for OCZ as we evolve our sales strategy globally," said Wayne B. Eisenberg, Senior VP of Sales for OCZ Technology. "Our reseller programs, extensive service and support, comprehensive portfolio and cost-effective pricing will provide Tech Data's proven IT sales channel with the support and incentives they need to drive and expand new storage technologies throughout North America and Latin America." Tech Data's AIS Division supports more than 17,500 value-added resellers (VARs) who specialize in data center and virtualization. The combination of OCZ's Z-Drive R4 PCIe SSDs and VXL Cache & Virtualization Software provides a virtual performance system that accelerates virtual machine (VM) applications and an ideal solution for the AIS VAR channel. Additionally, OCZ's new plug-and-play, tightly integrated hardware/software ZD-XL SQL Accelerator is another well-positioned product for AIS distribution, as it accelerates and optimizes SQL Server workloads so that the most relevant data is always available to the application when needed. Tech Data's AIS Division will also distribute OCZ's popular Deneva 2 SATA III SSDs and Talos 2 SAS SSDs for enterprise and small-to-medium-sized business (SMB) applications as well as the complete range of award-winning high-performance SSDs for client applications.
