Marsh & McLennan Companies Names Carey S. Roberts Deputy General Counsel And Corporate Secretary

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. MMC, a global professional services firm offering clients advice and solutions in risk, strategy, and human capital, announced today that Carey S. Roberts has joined the firm as Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. She will report to Peter J. Beshar, Executive Vice President & General Counsel, of Marsh & McLennan. Ms. Roberts will be responsible for overseeing a team of lawyers and paralegals who provide advice in areas including securities, M&A, employment law, benefits and compensation, privacy, e-discovery, and general commercial and corporate law matters. As Corporate Secretary, Ms. Roberts will act as a liaison to the MMC Board of Directors and provide advice on corporate governance matters. For the past 17 years, Ms. Roberts has worked at Covington & Burling LLP. She has been a partner in the Corporate Department since 2005. At Covington, Ms. Roberts has advised a broad range of public and private companies on securities, finance, general corporate, regulatory, employee compensation and benefits, and intellectual property matters.
