Apple Inc. AAPL on Monday announced it raked in over four million pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, a number that has far exceeded initial expectations and pushed some delivery dates into October.
The phones will be available in stores starting Friday, September 19. However, the company advises ordering online or arriving early if you're serious about getting your hands on one.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said, "iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do."
Perhaps the biggest perk of the new iPhones is the iOS 8 operating system, which includes features such as predictive typing, Family Sharing and iCloud Drive.Apple Pay will be available as a free update starting in October.
Those eager to get their own 6 or 6 plus will be looking at a starting price of $199 and $299, respectively, with a two-year contract.
