Tesla Stock Moves On Bogus Model W Blog Post

Tesla Motors Inc TSLA shares rose by almost $1.50 minutes before Wednesday's close in response to a blog post unveiling a new product, the Model W, on Tesla's official blog. The article appears to be a satirical piece, in lieu of April Fool's Day.

"Tesla today announced a whole new product line called the Model W. As many in the media predicted, it's a watch. That's what the "W" stands for," it stated.

"This incredible new device from Tesla doesn't just tell the time, it also tells the date," the author added. The post also gleefully claimed it can tell time anywhere on Earth, will improve users' health, and is available in platinum.

"No longer will you need to rudely examine your phone to read text messages. Now you can politely stare at the tiny screen on your wrist without anyone noticing," it said, before adding this photo:

"This is in no way a competitive response to what some other company is doing."
