Gamers Gear Up As EA's 'Star Wars Battlefront' Release Approaches

Electronic Arts Inc. EA will be finally releasing its much-anticipated game, Star Wars Battlefront next week.

Nerds, fans and investors are on the edge of their seats ahead of the November 17 launch as hype continues to build.

Ahead of the release, Benzinga spoke with Liam Callahan, industry analyst for Video and PC Games at The NPD Group, who shared some comments.

The release date –November 17- for the much-awaited Star Wars Battlefront is finally around the corner and, investors, analysts and fans alike, are pretty excited with the event.

Ahead of the release of the game, Benzinga contacted Liam Callahan, an industry analyst for Video and PC Games at The NPD Group.

While the analyst does not have access to pre-order figures, he did share some comments regarding the potential audience. “I think we’ll see fans of the older films come out to buy the game, there is definitely more nostalgia tied to the game with the game’s settings (Hoth, Tatooine, and Endor),” he assured.

“There is potential to move hardware, especially with the bundles they have featuring this game, like the PS4 bundle with Darth Vader embossed on the actual console, he added.

The Release Dates

Star Wars Battlefront will be out in North America next Tuesday, November 17.

Australia will get the game by November 19, and Europe, by November 20.

For now, the game will be available for Sony Corp (ADR) SNE’s PS4, Microsoft Corporation MSFT’s Xbox One and PC.
