Microsoft Corporation MSFT announced Monday that it had entered into a six-year agreement with HP Inc HPQ for the deployment of its Microsoft Dynamics to thousands of employees across HP.
HP was formerly a cloud partner of salesforce.com, inc. CRM.
During a Deutsche Bank technology conference Tuesday afternoon, Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise Group Vice President Scott Guthrie was asked whether the announced partnership was a harbinger of more success against the likes of Oracle Corporation ORCL and salesforce.
In response, Guthrie agreed that the HP deal was a "CRM takeaway" (CRM, aside from being salesforce's ticker, is also an acronym for Customer Relationship Management), that HP is making a massive migration to Dynamics, and called enterprise solutions Microsoft's "sweet spot."
In addition to Dynamics, HP will also employ other Microsoft offerings such as Office 365 and Azure.

- HP Inc was trading at $14.27, up 0.63 percent.
