House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has described the potential impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as a “natural step forward” amid ongoing Republican investigations into the Biden family, NBC News reports.
McCarthy hinted towards the possibility of initiating an impeachment inquiry when Congress reconvenes next month.
He stated that an impeachment inquiry would furnish Congress with the highest level of legal authority to collect all necessary information. The White House has yet to comment on this development.

Last week, McCarthy indicated the House’s inclination towards an impeachment inquiry if the administration fails to provide the documents Republicans are demanding. This includes bank and credit card statements, without specifying from which Biden family members. If the administration complies, according to McCarthy, there will be no need for an inquiry.
However, if the Biden family continues to resist, the House is expected to proceed with an impeachment inquiry once it resumes session.
It’s worth noting that this development occurs amidst separate federal investigations into Hunter Biden over tax and gun charges.
