Business Insider is reporting on a rumor from The Korea Herald (via a report by Apple Insider) that Apple AAPL is looking to upgrade the third iPad with a new screen.
More specifically, the report claims that Apple's COO, Tim Cook, recently visited Samsung to discuss the use of its Super AMOLED displays for the next iPad. Super AMOLED technology would reportedly allow Apple to produce an iPad that not only consumes less power but could offer a brighter screen with less sunlight reflection. This sounds great, but it's hard to believe that the iPad 3 could look any better than the iPad 2.
Earlier this year, Apple Insider reported on rumors of a Retina Display-equipped iPad 3. Thus far, that rumor has not come to fruition.
