The profits of General Mills Inc.(NYSE: GIS), the maker of Cheerios and Yoplait yogurt, for first-quarter profit surged 51 percent on lower ingredient costs and strong demand for its products. The shares of GIS rose by $3.21, or more than 5 percent, to $64.18 in early hours of trading. The GIS stock has been showing strength at higher levels, and is likely to test higher resistance level of $65.
