Ameriprise Financial Inc.(NYSE: AMP) picked up to $36.14 by almost  10% in early trades on Wednesday after the word that AMP would buy the asset-management business of Columbia Management from Bank of America Corp (NYSE: BAC). With a gap-up opening on high volumes, AMP is likely to evince fresh buying interest from traders and investors.
