Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI) slipped 6.63% to $7.04 in premarket trading after the developer of solar modules used in outer space said it plans to sell 4 million shares, raising money to fund production expansion. Shares of ASTI have surged over 85% in the last 6 months.
Lawson Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: LWSN) surged 8.97% to $6.80 after ,the St. Paul, Minnesota-based company, reported 80 percent more profit than analysts estimated in the first quarter, boosted by orders for new software from health-care companies and government customers. Year to date return on LWSN is about 37%.
UAL Corporation (NASDAQ: UAUA) fell 5.64% to $8.70 followed ,the parent of United Airlines, said it will sell at least 19 million shares of common stock and $175 million in convertible debt, joining an industrywide push to add cash before the slow winter travel season.
Catalyst Pharmaceutical Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPRX) surged 24.70% to $1.05 after yesterday it announced that the Company will continue to develop CPP-109 (Catalyst's version of vigabatrin) for the treatment of cocaine and methamphetamine addiction. The Company's decision was made after, and based upon, an in-depth review of the results obtained from its 186-patient Phase II clinical trial evaluating the use of CPP-109 for the treatment of cocaine addiction (CPP-01004) and the top-line results obtained from its 57-patient proof-of-concept study evaluating the use of CPP-109 for the treatment of methamphetamine addiction (CPP-02001).
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: BCRX) rose 10.19% to $9.08 after it delivers Response to HHS; Initiates Two Phase 3 Studies of Peramivir. Shares of BCRX have surged over 5905 so far during the year.
