PRINCETON, NJ--(Marketwire - August 18, 2009) - Educational Testing Service (ETS) today
announced that it has signed an agreement with Schoolnet, Inc., the leader
in data-driven education software to K-12 school systems, to allow
Schoolnet to distribute ETS® item banks together with Schoolnet's
assessment and instructional management solutions.

The relationship blends the core competencies of each organization --
unparalleled psychometric research and assessment development with a
tightly integrated suite linking data analysis, formative assessment and
standards-aligned curriculum management.

"Schoolnet solutions are built on the premise that school districts can
choose best-of-breed content," said Jonathan D. Harber, CEO, Schoolnet. "We
are thrilled to be able to offer
ETS's researched and proven item banks as a preloaded option within the
Schoolnet Suite."

The ETS item banks measure reading, mathematics, science and writing skills
aligned to specific state standards measured by state summative tests.
Thousands of high-quality items were carefully created by ETS using a
rigorous item development process, and the items can be combined into
benchmark or formative assessments to help educators understand and monitor
student progress toward mastering state standards.

By providing ETS test items within the context of the Schoolnet suite, ETS
and Schoolnet will further help educators raise the level of student
achievement.

The ETS item banks will be loaded into Schoolnet Assess® -- the formative
assessment module of Schoolnet's suite. Assess provides districts with all
of the tools required to create, manage and deploy district-wide,
site-based and classroom assessment programs. Assessments can be deployed
online, or bubble sheets can be created on plain-paper or scan forms.

Schoolnet's suite links data analysis and reporting to formative
assessment, standards-aligned curriculum management, grade books,
professional development management, and district and parent portals. As a
result, Schoolnet's suite allows clients to:

-- Increase student achievement
-- Increase teacher efficiency and effectiveness
-- Enhance central office productivity
-- Build learning communities
-- Communicate and engage continuously with parents

"Our core competency is in item and test development, so a strategic
relationship with Schoolnet offers K-12 school districts a complete
assessment and reporting platform plus our research-based products and
services," explains Robert Block, ETS Associate Vice President for Business
Development. "Schoolnet's education solutions combined with ETS's item
banks will help districts improve efficiency and efficacy, in addition to
helping educators develop and administer quality, customized assessments to
increase student achievement."
