• Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN), reporting production output at an "all-time high," posted a one penny earnings beat of 52 cents, topping estimates of 51 cents, and improved from last year's $0.01, on revenues of $3.21 billion versus projections of $3.14 billion. The company provided upside current quarter guidance of 56-64 cents on revenues of $3.31 billion-$3.59 billion, besting consensus estimates of 53 cents on sales of $3.22 billion

• DuPont (NYSE:DD) posted estimate-topping earnings of $1.24, besting consensus estimates of $1.06 on revenues of $8.48 billion also beating consensus estimates of $8.06 billion. The firm offered upside guidance with a new range of $2.50-$2.70, better than the Street's estimates of $2.38

• Ford (NYSE:F) reported earnings of 46 cents, better than the 31 cent projections and up from a loss of 75 cents a year earlier on sales of $28.1 billion, which missed projections of $30.49 billion

• Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) posted first quarter results, which topped analysts' estimates, coming in at 82 cents up from 76 cents anticipated on revenues of $2.24 billion, which beat estimates of $2.15 billion

• 3M (NYSE:MMM) topped estimates with earnings of $1.40 up from projections of $1.21 and 81 cents a year earlier on revenues of $6.3 billion, which bested estimates of $5.94 billion. Full year guidance was lifted to a range of $5.40-$5.60
