American Airlines Group, Inc. AAL shares were trading higher on Tuesday.
The firm is enhancing passenger connectivity through a new partnership with AT&T Inc. T.
The airline has announced that starting January 2026, it will provide complimentary inflight Wi-Fi to members of its AAdvantage loyalty program.
As part of the initiative, more than two million American Airlines flights annually will offer high-speed internet access at no cost, positioning the carrier as the U.S. airline with the most extensive free Wi-Fi coverage.

The complimentary service will be available on aircraft equipped with high-speed satellite internet from Viasat and Intelsat, covering about 90% of American Airlines’ mainline fleet.
The airline also plans to upgrade over 500 regional aircraft with advanced Wi-Fi by the end of 2025 to support the rollout.

Heather Garboden, American Airlines’ recently appointed chief customer officer, said the move is part of a broader mission to improve every aspect of the passenger experience.
“We’ve been working diligently to outfit our aircraft with best-in-class high-speed Wi-Fi and together with AT&T are proud to offer those services at no cost to our most loyal customers,” Garboden stated.
Jenifer Robertson, executive VP and general manager of Mass Markets at AT&T, stressed the importance of constant connectivity. “By advancing connectivity, everything becomes more immediate and accessible anywhere they go.”
The free Wi-Fi benefit will be exclusive to AAdvantage members, adding another layer of value to an already popular loyalty program.

Price Action: AAL shares are trading higher by 2.77% to $9.845 at last check Tuesday, while T shares are trading higher by 1.32% to $27.56.
