• UAL (NASDAQ:UAUA) and Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) agreed to a merger which would form the world's largest carrier, for a total market value of $3.2 billion. The deal still has to pass regulators
• The cleanup of still-stewing oil spill in the Gulf could cost as much as $14 billion
• According to Piper Jaffray (NYSE:PJC) the weekend sales of iPad 3G, which include cellular capability, reached about 330,000. Prices start at $629 compared to the initial model's $400 price tag
• Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) responding to consumer complaints, recalled over 1,000 lots of certain infant and children products, including some Children's Tylenol and Motrin Infant Drops
• CapitalSource (NYSE:CSE) reported a first quarter loss of 66 cents a share
• Loews (NYSE:L) posted better-than-expected first quarter earnings of 99 cents, versus Zacks estimates of 96 cents, on revenues of $3.7 billion, which beat Zacks estimates of $3.4 billion
