USU Soars on $1.2b Deal With Exelon
Today USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU) announced that Exelon Generation Company LLC has signed a contract to purchase SWU (separative work units) from USEC's American Centrifuge Plant to fuel its reactors. The contract starts in 2012 and is valued at nearly $1.2 billion.
The stock started the day very flat and started gaining since the mid morning and now trades at $5.27, up 16.85% on volume of 8.09 million shares – more than 3X higher than its daily total average volume. The stock has almost doubled from its 52- week lows, touched in the month of November, last year.
