Stocks To Watch (CNO, VOXX, INTC, GPI, ALTR)

Conseco, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) climbed 15.83% to $5.78 in after hours trade after it announced that, as part of a series of transactions intended to enhance its capital position, it entered into a stock and warrant purchase agreement with John Paulson's Paulson & Co. Inc., on behalf of the several investment funds and accounts managed by it, to sell to Paulson 16.4 million shares of common stock and warrants to purchase 5.0 million shares of common stock for an aggregate purchase price of $77.9 million.

Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX) added 6.12% to $7.98 after reports Q2 EPS of $0.12, compared to a loss of $0.10 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $124.9 million, versus $147.2 million in Q209.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) rallied 4.44% to $21.40 after reports Q3 EPS of $0.33, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.27. Revenue for the quarter was $9.4 billion, which compares to the estimate of $9.02 billion. Sees Q4 sales of $10.1 billion plus or minus $400 million.

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. (NYSE: GPI) surged 2.42% to $30.50 after it reported that based on preliminary results, it expects 2009 third-quarter diluted earnings per share within a range of $0.68 to $0.72. This range excludes a one-time tax adjustment that is estimated to add approximately $0.07 per diluted share, gains on debt redemption of approximately $0.02 per diluted share and non-cash impairment charges primarily related to real estate holdings of approximately $0.02 per diluted share.

Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) announced that for the fourth quarter of 2009, it expects sequential sales growth of 6% to 10%. The Company reported sales of $286.6 million in the third quarter of 2009. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts on an average were expecting the Company to report revenue of $290 million for the fourth quarter of 2009
