Paulson & Co. Ready To Pay Any Legal Fees In Connection With Goldman Sachs (GS) Lawsuit
John Paulson, hedge fund manager and founder of Paulson & Co., who along with his firm has been named by the SEC of being involved with Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) in the fraud related to CDOs backed by subprime mortgages, said today that his firm was to ready to bear any legal costs related to the case and that the burden would not fall on investors in his hedge fund.
According to the Wall Street Journal, in a letter addressed to investors, Paulson said that he’s “highly confident” his fund will not face “legitimate causes of action.” The letter is another effort this week by Paulson to reassure investors in his hedge fund. Although the SEC has mentioned about Paulson’s opaque dealings with Goldman, the regulator has not charged him or his fund in the case so far.
