Raising Finances To Be Tricky For Hedge Funds, Says Barron's
According to Barron’s, in the current situation, raising money can be tricky for hedge funds. Barron’s spoke with three hedge fund managers – all of whom have achieved fantastic results in recent times. All of them acknowledge that mopping up funds is a long slow process.
They also proffer 3 main ideas for hedge fund operators. Stick to sectors you know well. Introduce rigorous and systematic risk controls in your hedge funds. Bear it in mind that the credit crisis has not yet blown over.
The three managers are Brett Hendrickson (of Nokomis Capital), Ben Weinger (of 3 - Sigma Value fund) and Steve Hornstein (of Global Credit Advisors). Brett’s recent potential stock is Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NASDAQ: DECK). Ben’s are Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (NYSE: STP) and Comverse Technology, Inc. (OTC: CMVT). Steve’s Global Credit Advisors is bullish on Telecom, media and packaging companies.
