International Royalty Corporation (AMEX: ROY) has soared 50.57% to $6.71 on 3.34 million shares after Franco-Nevada Corporation announced that it has informed International Royalty Corporation that Franco-Nevada Corporation intends to, directly or indirectly through a wholly-owned subsidiary, make a formal all-cash offer to IRC shareholders to acquire any or all of the outstanding common shares of IRC (Offer) for CDN$6.75 cash per share.
AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASIA) has jumped 22.11% to $30.65 after AsiaInfo Holdings and Linkage Technologies International Holdings Limited today jointly announced that they have signed a definitive agreement to merge, forming AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc. So far this year, ASIA is up over 158%.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) shares climbed 13.47% to $16.18 on 38.77 million shares on news that Intel will cancel the rollout of its Larrabee graphics chip that the company had been talking about releasing publicly since 2007.
Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE: S) shares soared 8% to $3.99. So far this year, Shares of Sprint Nextel have gained over 119%.
Terra Industries Inc. (NYSE: TRA) shares climbed 6% to $41.42 on 3.85 million shares after CF Industries has raised its bid for Terra Industries Inc. That brings CF Industries' offer to $36.75 in cash and 0.1034 of a share of CF Industries common stock for each Terra share. So far this year, TRA is up over 148%.
