Semiconductor Shortages - See How ResMed Is Tackling - ResMed (NYSE:RMD)

ResMed Inc RMD has redesigned the AirSense 10 to eliminate a short-supply semiconductor chipset used for cellular communications chips.
Instead of offering wireless communications capability, the new AirSense 10 "Card to Cloud" models collect the patient's data on an SD card, which can then be mailed to the provider and uploaded to the cloud.
Needham notes that ResMed continues to sell its AirSense 10 and AirSense 11 models with cellular connectivity.
The AirSense 10 Card to Cloud is now available in the U.S. and select international geographies.

At a recent investor conference, management noted that the redesigns have freed up some CPAP volume, and they expect this to be aided by RMD's new 450,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Singapore.
Management also noted their flexibility with their supply chain and reengineering capabilities should allow for sequential revenue growth throughout CY22.
Needham says that a check at internet retailers indicates better availability of ResMed flow generators, including the AirSense 10 Card to Cloud.
