Michael Dell Attacks HP

Dell DELL CEO Michael Dell just loves to verbally throw down, and he particularly enjoys spreading dirt about HP HPQ. It is almost as if he is obsessed with HP, who recently underwent massive corporate restructuring. HP is keeping a dignified silence, telling Benzinga that the company “declines to comment”. That is the smartest course of action, because a mud-slinging match is the last thing it needs, and Dell certainly does not seem like the kind of guy to play nice. These latest jabs are coming in the wake of news that HP plans to ditch its WebOS hardware, and then possibly spin off its PC business. "If HP spins off their PC business, maybe they will call it Compaq?" said Dell on Twitter, referring to HP's $25 billion merger with PC maker Compaq. That is not the first time Dell has felt the need to speak out about that subject either, previously calling it the “dumbest deal of the decade”. Mr. Dell, who seems to enjoy his tweeting, said that “They are calling it a separation, but it feels like a divorce.” You might think that Dell would have learned his lesson after he throw a few jabs at Apple in the ‘90s about giving up and going home, only to see Steve Jobs and company overtake Dell's market cap, but no. It would seem as if Dell enjoys mud-raking too much to quit.
