Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARNA) slide 17.315 to $4.06 in pre market trading despite it reported positive, highly significant top line results from the BLOSSOM (Behavioral modification and LOrcaserin Second Study for Obesity Management) trial. BLOSSOM confirms the results previously reported for the BLOOM (Behavioral modification and Lorcaserin for Overweight and Obesity Management) trial and completes the lorcaserin Phase 3 pivotal registration program of 7,190 patients evaluated for up to two years.
Palm, Inc. (NASDAQ: PALM) decreased 3.74% to $14.44 reported a deeper net loss on a drop in revenue for its first fiscal quarter, though sales of the company's smart phones jumped from the previous period with the launch of its new Pre. Despite better-than-expected sales for the quarter, concerns about a relatively weak forecast for the current period remain.
Navios Maritime Partners L.P. (NYSE: NMM) fell 9% to $11.89 after it announced that it plans to offer 2,800,000 common units representing limited partnership interests in a public offering. Navios Partners expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase an additional 420,000 common units to cover over-allotments, if any.
Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ: SIRI) fell 1.42% to $0.68 after it received notice from the Nasdaq Stock Market on September 15, 2009 that its common stock had closed below $1.00 per share for 30 consecutive business days and is therefore not in compliance with the Nasdaq Marketplace Rule 5450(a)(1).
IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS) jumped up 1.38% to $53.02 in after hour market as it reported Q3 EPS of $0.66, ex-items, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.60. Revenue for the quarter was $239 million, which compares to the estimate of $234.77 million. Sees FY10 sales up to $1.04-$1.08 billion, versus the consensus of $1.05 billion.
