New 52-Week High Stocks – KERX,XRA,HSR,AAPL,GOLD
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: KERX) crossed its earlier 52-week high of $1.88 and touched a new 52-week high at $2.63 in today’s morning trade. Currently the stock is trading at $2.26, up 45% on 18.03 million shares – over 6X than the total daily average volume followed its announcement that the company has received Orphan-Drug designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
Exeter Resource Corp. (AMEX: XRA) soared 12.39% to $5.35 on total volume of 341K shares compared to 123k average volume. Today it made a new 52-week high of $5.38.
Hi-Shear Technology Corporation (AMEX: HSR) was another which made a new 52 week high of $18.85 and now trades at $18.78, increased by massive 58% after Chemring Group PLC (CHG.LN) said Wednesday it is buying aerospace concern Hi-Shear Technology Corp. for $132 million, funded from a new committed facility with Lloyds Banking Group PLC .
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)) made a new 52-week high at $180.91, passed its earlier high of $175.65 made yesterday . Currently the stock is trading higher 1% at $180.71 on unusual volume of 9.83 million shares.
Randgold Resources Ltd (ADR) (NASDAQ: GOLD) today broken its previous 52-week high and made a new high at $75.24 and now up 5.09% and now trades at $75.11 with a total volume of 1.05 million shares.
