Share:

Among the notable after hours movers on Friday are Lions Gate Entertainment (NYSE: LGF), Occidental Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: OXY), Peabody Energy (NYSE: BTU), and Talisman Energy (NYSE: TLM).

Lions Gate (LGF), which activist investor Carl Icahn is trying to acquire for $7 a share, lost 2.23% after hours. During regular market hours, the stock jumped 4.21% to $7.18.

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) enjoyed a strong day, surging 2.56%, but has given much of those gains away after hours where the shares have fallen 2.24% to $85.52. A total of 143,433 shares have traded hands on electronic exchanges after the close of the NYSE.

Another energy name that had a huge day, but has seen some selling pressure in late trading is Peabody (BTU). That stock gained 6% today to close at $49.21. In the extended trading session, however, the shares have lost 4.16% to $47.16. Volume has been relatively light, so it is doubtful that there are any significant developments in the name.

Talisman Energy (NYSE: TLM) notched gains of 1.58% today, but has lost 2.22% in the after hours. The shares are now trading hands for $17.02. Total volume in extended electronic trading has been 101,106.
