New 52-Week High Stocks (V, NTRI, NLC, WBC, AWI)
Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) touched a new 52-week high at $78.02 in today’s morning trade. Currently the stock is trading at $77.70, up 5.14% on 11.80 million shares after it swung a $514 million profit for the fiscal fourth quarter after suffering a $356 million loss in the same period a year ago. Profits were pushed by increased debit card transactions and a reduction in operating costs.
NutriSystem Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRI) soared 16% to $21.96. Today NTRI made a new 52-week at $22.00 after late Tuesday its third quarter profit fell from last year, but results were still enough to beat Wall Street’s expectations.
Nalco Holding Company (NYSE: NLC) was another stock which made a new 52 week high of $23.13 and now trades at $22, increased $1.16 or 5.57%. Tuesday after the bell, water treatment solutions provider Nalco Holding, Co. (NLC: News ) reported a sharp decline in profit for the third quarter, as sales fell 14%, reflecting weak sales in all its segments.
WABCO Holdings Inc. (NYSE: WBC) today broken its previous 52-week high and made a new high at $26.12 and now up 3.32% and trades at $24.59 with a total volume of 1.19 million shares .
Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (NYSE: AWI) moved up 1.90% to $40.06 with over 727K shares changed hand . Tuesday, Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI: News ), a manufacturer of flooring and ceiling products, said its third quarter profit increased from last year as a 19% drop in sales was offset by an income tax benefit. The company expects fiscal 2009 results above the current estimates of Wall Street analysts.
