Ford Motor Co F is recalling 148,000 vehicles in the United States, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said.
What Happened: In a statement on Thursday, the federal agency said that Ford is recalling 123,611 vehicles from the 2017–18 Ford F-150 series, the Ford Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator models. The recall is related to a fluid leak that affects the braking performance of these vehicles.
The auto safety regulator reiterated that dealers are expected to replace the affected parts, like the master cylinder or the brake booster, for no charge.

In a separate recall, the manufacturer is also fixing a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on 24,655 2025 Ford Explorers. The issue could cause stalling of the vehicle or damage its parking system. Like above, the dealers are expected to fix the software issue for free.
Why It Matters: News of the recall comes in as Ford has indicated it may hike the price of its models in the U.S. as the company deals with the auto tariffs levied by the Trump administration.
Ratings agency S&P had recently published a report, which said that Ford was at a high risk of a negative rating due to Trump's tariffs. The company currently boasts a BBB- rating.
However, Donald Trump's comments about providing some U.S. auto manufacturers with exemptions to the tariffs could prove to be a relief for the Detroit-based company.
Price Action: F is currently trading at $9.40 on the NYSE, according to Benzinga Pro data.
