USDA Daily Cattle Slaughter; Live Cattle Futures Down the Limit

Monday's USDA cattle slaughter was 115,000 head versus a year ago at 111,000 head. October live cattle is offered at 98.87, down 3.00 cents/lb. December live cattle is offered at 100.05, down 3.00 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 101.05, down 2.82 cents/lb. Live cattle futures traded down the permissible daily limit Monday. Market talk about increasing cattle supplies and slack consumer demand was making the rounds.
