Here's a quick questions, “What's the best performing metal miner this year, YTD, over the past 6-months, or over the past 3-months?” Perhaps a silver play like Silver Wheaton (NYSE:
SLW) may come to mind or a metallurgical coal miner like Cliffs Natural Resources (NYSE:
CLF).
In both cases you would be wrong. Over every single one of those time periods uranium producers have significantly outperformed. Take, for instance, Uranium Resources Inc. (NASDAQ:
URRE), which is a $262 million market cap company. It has rallied 180% over the past 12-months, 268% this year, 498% over the past two quarters, and 406% over the past quarter.
Very similar stories could be spun for Uranerz Energy Corp. (AMEX:
URZ), uranium Energy Corp. (AMEX:
UEC), Strathmore Minerals Corp. (OTCBB: STHJF), and Denison Mines Corp. (AMEX:
