As the year winds up, I thought I would take a look at the sector performance for the oil and oil services names for 2010. The exploration and production names like Chesapeake (NYSE:

), Barnwell Industries, Inc. (AMEX:

), Carrizo Oil & Gas, Inc. (NASDAQ:

) and Brigham Exploration Company (NASDAQ:

) rose 15% so far in 2010. The integrated names, like Suncor (NYSE:

) rose 14.5% this year. Oil equipment & services names rose the most this year, gaining 25%. This includes names like Schlumberger (NYSE:

) and Flowserve (NYSE:

). Pipelines were the second best performing group in 2010, gaining 23% so far year to date. Enbridge Inc. (

) (NYSE:

) is a prime example of the pipeline group.
