- Construction had started on the expansion, with foundations, sewers, cables, a canteen, and parking space for 1,000 cars already installed.
- Meta spokesman Peter Münster said the move was part of its efforts to create a more streamlined organization. Meta re-examined development plans to ensure it is building a new generation of data centers designed to handle AI workloads.
- Recently, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company would cut more than 11,000 jobs.
- In July, Meta permanently canceled a data center project in the Netherlands following a government protest over environmental concerns.
