Elon Musk advised Vivek Ramaswamy to post his podcasts directly on Twitter, now rebranded as X, and the GOP candidate complied.
What Happened: On Tuesday, Musk, who acquired Twitter for $44 billion in October last year, suggested to Republican presidential candidate Ramaswamy that he should post his podcasts directly on the social media platform.
The tech billionaire highlighted the potential benefits of posting content directly on X, citing the platform’s algorithm’s tendency to reward posts that engage viewers for extended periods.

Ramaswamy wasted no time in heeding Musk’s advice.
Shortly after Musk’s post, he posted a new podcast episode titled “Episode 1: Papa John Schnatter. The Unfair Sacrifice of a Great American at the Altar of Cancel Culture” on the platform.
Before this exchange, Ramaswamy took to X to inform his followers that despite advice from political consultants who cautioned against launching a podcast due to its potential campaign risks, they’ve chosen to proceed with full transparency.
The 38-year-old Ramaswamy, a first-time candidate, first posted his podcast on Alphabet Inc.’s GOOG GOOGL online video sharing and social media platform, YouTube.
In January this year, a survey result suggested that 33% of U.S. adults prefer YouTube as their chosen podcast platform, followed by Spotify with 24% and Apple Podcast with a mere 12%.
Why It’s Important: Musk’s support for Ramaswamy has been evident, although the tech billionaire has previously supported other GOP candidates. He backed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the GOP nomination earlier this year.
Having said that, their collaboration on Twitter Spaces discussions resulted in a significant boost in Ramaswamy’s social media following.
This development comes after former U.S. President Donald Trump’s return to X. Last month, he shared a mugshot and directed followers to donate to his presidential campaign.
However, Trump’s presence on the platform has remained nonexistent since then.
