Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has filed a second ethics complaint against the prosecutor in the Georgia election interference case, accusing the official of violating state transparency and ethics rules.
What Happened: Greene, a prominent supporter of former President Donald Trump, filed a complaint with the Georgia State Ethics Commission on Thursday, NBC News reported. She called for an investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for alleged breaches of state transparency and ethics rules,
Willis is the prosecutor leading the case against Trump in the Georgia election interference lawsuit. Greene accused Willis of failing to file personal financial disclosure statements after initiating the Trump investigation, thus violating Georgia campaign finance and ethics rules.

Greene’s complaint states that Willis’ actions have prevented Georgians from being informed about potential undue influence over their elected officials. The complaint also alleges that Willis’ relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade has “illegally tainted” the prosecution.
Why It Matters: This is not the first time Willis has come under scrutiny in connection with the Trump case. Earlier this year, Willis acknowledged a “personal relationship” with Wade, a key prosecutor in the case. This admission raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, as previously reported by Benzinga.
These allegations against Willis and Wade have the potential to undermine the case against Trump. Despite the absence of any Georgia law mandating their disqualification, the allegations have already had a significant impact.
