Goldman Returning To Core Principles?

An article in the NY Post shows that Goldman Sachs GS is going back to being Goldman and putting the client first. "[Goldman] is trying to re-dedicate itself to its core principles," said a source familiar with the Business Standards review. "But the changes might not be viewed necessarily as radical," the source said. CEO Lloyd Blankfein has said to people close to him that the changes being made aren't going to "Wow" anyone, and will likely be seen as minimal. The two most important issues that Goldman addressed are "How Goldman treats conflicts of interest, and how well the firm discloses information to its clients and shareholders." This comes after intense scrutiny from Washington over the past couple of years and a severely tarnished public reputation.
