Stocks That Hit 52-Week Lows On Friday

ITEX Corporation (OTCBB: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/itex#OTCBB">ITEX</a>), The Membership Trading Community(<a class="ticker" href="/stock/sm#">SM</a>), a leading marketplace for cashless business transactions in North America, today announced preliminary results of stockholder voting at its annual meeting held earlier today in Bellevue, Washington. Based on preliminary results, it appears that each of its current members of the Board of Directors, Steven White, Eric Best, and John Wade, were re-elected to serve for an additional one-year term and the selection of Ehrhardt Keefe Steiner &amp; Hoffman PC as the Company's independent auditor was ratified. Preliminary results as tabulated by the Company's inspector of elections, OTR, Inc., will be announced within four business days, and final results will be announced promptly following certification by the inspector.
Steven White, Chairman and CEO stated, "We are very pleased by the wide support we have received from stockholders, franchisees and staff and the continued confidence they have shown in ITEX and our Board. We will continue to work diligently to create increased value for our member base, franchisees and stockholders."

ITEX Corp (OTC:BB: ITEX) offers a very unique product to small businesses around the country. They operate a website which facilitates its members’ ability to "barter" each others excess inventory or services to one another without using cash. 
The company instead uses "ITEX Dollars" as the main unit of currency for the member companies to exchange goods and services. This presents an interesting play for inflation. The company itself holds some ITEX dollars (as well as extends ITEX dollar credit lines to some of its customers), thereby hedging itself to some extent from the US Dollar. These units represent true and absolute buying power for other members good and services.
ITEX makes it money through fixed annual member fees and transaction fees that range from 5-9%. The company is profitable and relatively financially stable. ITEX should earn about $0.03/share this year, and has $0.07/share in cash, with no long term debt. 
ITEX closed yesterday unchanged at $0.62/share.
