America’s Entrepreneurs: the Best and the Brightest
Even though times are lean and resources are hard to come by, America has continued to churn out promising young entrepreneurs who, by taking their future in their own hands, have fueled economic growth and inspired millions of others.
BusinessWeek recently published a list of 25 such individuals. Here is a shot introduction to some of them:
Brian Ruby founded a molecular imaging equipment maker, the Carbon Nanoporobes, in 2003. Sales at his company are forecasted to reach about $1 million in 2010.
Eric Koger and Susan Koger employ 104 workers in ModCloth, which is an indie-clothing e-tailer. Their company earns an average of $1 million in monthly sales.
Zimride was established in 2007 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to allow carpoolers to connect online. The firm employs 6 persons, and expects to earn $400,000 this year.
