Telecom and VoIP Provider Windstream Hits 52-Week High
Windstream (WIN) announces the expansion of its converged communications services to the Raleigh and Greensboro, N.C. markets. Today the S&P 500 company providing phone, high-speed Internet and high-definition digital TV services to customers in 16 states hit a 52-week high on the news of expansion.
The company offers a wide range of IP-based voice and data services and advanced phone systems and equipment to businesses and government agencies. The company, with approximately 3 million access lines and about $3.1 billion in annual revenues is a leader in the VoIP market, dwarfing the revenues of more well marketed VoIP providers like Vonage (VG) whose offerings are strictly in the provenance of VoIP telephony.
Windstream, with a market cap of $4.52B is working to catch up to the bigger players in the telecom sector like AT&T (T), Sprint (S) and Verizon (VZ).
