Facebook may be on the cusp of its
700 millionth user, but that isn't stopping American and Canadian users from losing interest in the site.
According to
Inside Facebook, the social networking giant lost nearly six million users in America, falling from 155.2 million at the start of May to 149.4 million at the end of the month. Canada lost 1.52 million users, while Norway, Russia and the United Kingdom lost more than 100,000 users.
This is not promising news for a company that hoped to cash in on
the success of LinkedIn (NYSE:
LNKD), which
soared during its IPO last month.
Still, with a growing number of new users in developing nations, and well over 140 million users domestically, Facebook doesn't have much to worry about…yet.
