Dota 2's International 10 Hits Record After Reaching $25M Prize Pool

After Valve postponed Dota 2's International 10 from its original August dates, the company left the event's schedule open. It hasn't negatively affected the interest, and fans have made sure to once again help the esport hit records.

The prize pool has reached $25 million after witnessing the largest one-day gain in The International's (TI) history, and the numbers will continue to grow.

TI9 occurred in August 2019 and featured the biggest prize pool in esports history. The event featured a $32 million prize pool, narrowing beating the Fortnite World Cup, who offered $30 million. With 2020's installation already hitting $25 million, the next TI will inevitably reach another record. This is thanks in part to the extension of "Dota 2's" Battle Pass bundle, which was extended to July 2. The extension promoted an explosive $4 million growth.

After the Battle Pass was implemented toward the end of May, the title's been consistently hitting prize pool records.

The Battle Pass bundle included 120 Battle Levels with nine Treasure 1s, six Treasure 2s, and three Treasure 3s at a 75% discount. With the demand for the bundle being understandably high, Valve limited it to two per customer. The surge will help Dota 2 keep its habit of smashing records.
