Shares of Walgreen Co WAG gained about 0.9% after the company reported a 4.8% rise in its June same-store sales. Analysts were expecting a 2.8% increase. Comparable results included a 4.7% rise in non-pharmacy front end sales. Its comparable pharmacy sales climbed 4.9%. Walgreen's total sales jumped 6.8% to $6.04 billion. Shares of UnitedHealth Group UNH gained about 0.3% after the company named Larry C. Renfro as chief executive officer of Optum, its health services business platform, effective immediately. Shares of Honda Motor Co Ltd HMC rose about 0.8% after the company posted a 29.9% fall in its automobile sales in China in June. Honda's sales in China dropped to 35,105 units in June. However, its sales in the first half of this year declined 12.3% y/y to 271,369 units. The company sold 646,631 units in China last year. Shares of Hutchinson Technology Inc HTCH gained about 19% after the company issued upbeat revenue forecast for its fiscal third quarter. The company projects Q3 sales of about $72 million, up 14% from second quarter, and above analysts' estimates of $65.5 million. Hutchinson shipped around 118 million disk-drive suspension assemblies in the quarter, up 15% versus the second quarter.
