PNC Financial Services (NYSE: PNC) moved up 10.77% to $49.80 after it reported net income of $559 million, or $1.00 per diluted common share, for the third quarter of 2009 compared with net income of $207 million, or $.14 per diluted common share, for the second quarter of 2009.

While The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) is moving higher by 6.18% to $50.99 afterit better-than-expected.

Banner Corporation (NASDAQ: BANR) is also inching up 10.72% to $3.32. In the last 5 trading sessions, the stock is up about 30%.

Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (NYSE: AMP) climbed 6.885 to $37.93 after it swung to a third-quarter profit of $260 million, or $1 a share. The financial services provider lost $70 million, or 32 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 20% to $2 billion. Analysts had forecast Ameriprise to earn 64 cents a share.
