A Netflix Inc NFLX biopic on actress, model, and singer Marilyn Monroe has racked up eight Golden Raspberry Award or Razzie nominations. The parody awards honor cinematic underachievers.
What Happened: “Blonde” was the frontrunner in this year’s Razzie nominations and scored a nomination for the worst picture, reported Reuters.
The 2022 film, starring Ana de Armas as Monroe, reportedly picked up two nominations for worst supporting actors, two for worst screen couples, and others, including for worst director and screenplay.

Why It Matters: Netflix lists Blonde among its “2023 Netflix Oscar Contenders,” along with other titles such as “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” starring Daniel Craig and Kate Hudson.
Also on that list are titles such as “White House,” “Elephant Whisperers,” and “All Quiet On The Western Front.”
Oscar nominations are set to be announced on Tuesday. Last month the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the Oscar shortlists for the 95th awards in which Blonde was listed in the “Makeup and Hairstyling” category.
The Oscar ceremony will take place on March 12 at the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
Price Action: On Monday, Netflix shares closed 4.4% higher at $357.42 in the regular session and were largely unchanged in the after-hours trading, according to Benzinga Pro data.
