After rumors of Tesla Inc's TSLA Hardware 4 (HW4) self-driving computer leaked, vehicles with the new hardware were soon available for purchase.

But these new vehicles lacked some of the cameras and features seen in the leak.

More evidence now points to another jump in future hardware.

Tesla hacker Green found the HW4 upgrade came with two possible camera layouts. The default camera configuration remained unchanged, while the expanded option included additional cameras on the front bumper and sides. These cameras are capable of capturing images at a resolution of 2880 x 1876 and operate at up to 45 frames per second.

The upgrade also featured a new Teseo V-based GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and the transition of radar connectivity to Ethernet.

Tesla's firmware updates additionally revealed more information related to the highly anticipated Tesla Semi. The battery management system (BMS) and all three subpacks appear to be accessible via internal Ethernet, hinting at further advancements in Tesla's electric truck development.
