WisdomTree Tops $20B in AUM; Shares Surge

WisdomTree WETF, the seventh-largest U.S. ETF sponsor, said today its assets under management total has eclipsed the $20 billion mark. In a statement, the New York-based firm said its current AUM tally rests at about $20.2 billion. "We are pleased to reach this significant milestone of $20 billion in AUM, and equally pleased to reach these asset levels through balanced growth across our product family. WisdomTree is building a track record of innovation in the ETF industry," said WisdomTree CEO and President Jonathan Steinberg in a statement. Inflows to WisdomTree ETFs have been bolstered by the firm's international lineup. In less than two months, the WisdomTree Japan Hedged Equity Fund's DXJ AUM total has nearly quadrupled to $2 billion while the WisdomTree Emerging Markets Equity Income Fund DEM rose to over $5 billion in AUM from $3 billion in just 11 months. Home to over $1.7 billion in assets, ELD is the second-largest actively managed ETF on the market today and it was the first to cross the $1 billion in AUM threshold. The WisdomTree LargeCap Dividend Fund DLN and the WisdomTree Emerging Markets SmallCap Dividend Fund DGS also have more than $1 billion in assets. Shares of WisdomTree are up two percent on volume that is roughly 14 times the daily average today. As of this writing, the stock is just three cents below its 52-week high at $8.50.
