Before you start, though, you must create your Midjourney account and set it up on Discord.

• Visit the Midjourney website and join the beta using your Discord account.
• If you don't already have a Discord account, you will have to create one to use Midjourney.
• Join any one of the newcomer rooms in the Midjourney channels on Discord.
• Now buy a Midjourney subscription plan.

Once you familiarize yourself with Midjourney channels on Discord, you are ready to start creating Instagram post backgrounds.

• When you are ready with an idea for the image, type the command "/image" in your newbies room.
• Now, you will have to enter the prompt. An example is "dragon fire".
• For this, the actual prompt will be: "dragon fire, octane render — ar 4:5"

That's it – Midjourney will now present you with a few options to choose from. You can choose to upscale these images or create a few more variations of them.
