Despite Backlash, 'Real Housewives' Star Dolores Catania Talks About Using Ozempic: 'I'm Being Realistic'

Dolores Catania, star of “The Real Housewives Of New Jersey“, has shared her ongoing weight loss journey, revealing her aim to lose more weight after already shedding 20 pounds with the help of Ozempic and Mounjaro drugs, Daily Mail reports.

Weight Loss Journey: Despite backlash for using Ozempic, Catania has been open about her weight loss process.

“I’m being realistic. Right now, I’m 137. I was 157 when I started,” she said.

She further explained that losing weight was challenging, stating, “It doesn’t happen overnight. It doesn’t come off easy.”

Switching Drugs: Before switching to Mounjaro, a type 2 diabetes treatment similar to Ozempic, Catania was prescribed both drugs due to her insulin resistance/pre-diabetic condition and thyroid issue. She expressed concern about potential side effects but was reassured by her doctors.

Healthy Lifestyle: Despite using Mounjaro, Catania maintains a strict diet and fitness routine.

“There is no easy fix for weight loss and I have to watch what I eat,” she said.

She also revealed that she stopped taking Ozempic due to its cost, emphasizing that a healthy lifestyle is more affordable.

Backlash and Defense: After admitting to using Ozempic on “Watch What Happens” Live with Andy Cohen, Catania faced backlash from fans. However, she defended her decision, stating that she was taking the weight loss drug for health reasons, including menopause and thyroid issues.
