Joe Biden To Welcome Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese For State Visit In October

President Joe Biden is set to host Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for a state visit this October, the White House confirmed, The Hill reports.

The upcoming visit emphasizes the “deep and enduring Alliance between the United States and Australia,” highlighting both nations’ mutual dedication to a stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific, as stated by press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

During their meeting, Biden and Albanese aim to fortify collaboration on pivotal matters, ensuring the Alliance remains prepared to tackle evolving regional and global challenges.

Earlier this year, Biden had canceled a scheduled trip to Australia in May due to government spending negotiations and the debt ceiling debate.

By hosting state visits, including this one with Albanese, Biden continues his efforts to strengthen the U.S.-Australia bond. This includes his initiative with the Quad Alliance, a strategic group comprising the U.S., Australia, India, and Japan, primarily designed to offset China’s influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
