Media Advisory: The Governor General and the Chief of the Defence Staff to Introduce Soldier on Members for the South Pole Allied Challenge

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 18, 2013) - On Friday, April 19, 2013, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, alongside the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Tom Lawson, will introduce ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members who will participate in the South Pole Allied Challenge.

This monumental expedition will see three teams of ill and injured servicemen and women race to the Geographic South Pole. With His Royal Highness Prince Harry serving as the patron of the expedition, ill and injured serving and former military personnel from the Commonwealth (Australia and Canada), the United Kingdom and the United States will embark on a grueling challenge from November to December 2013.



When: Friday, April 19, 2013, 9:30 a.m.

Where: National Defence Headquarters, 101 Colonel By Drive, North Tower,
Conference Room D.

What: A formal announcement, introducing the South Pole Allied
Challenge's CAF team members. The Canadian South Pole Allied
Challenge expedition participants and representatives from
Soldier On will be available for individual interviews.
