Robert Kennedy Jr. Could Cut Votes From Joe Biden And Donald Trump: Poll

Democratic presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is poised to cut into the voter base of both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, a new survey reveals.

As reported by The Hill, the recent Reuters/Ipsos poll revealed Kennedy has the potential to draw votes from approximately 1 in 7 U.S. voters. Kennedy is speculated to exit the Democratic race against Biden and declare his independent candidacy next week.

The survey results indicate an apparent lack of enthusiasm for both Biden and Trump. In a hypothetical three-way race, Kennedy secured 14% of the vote, while Biden and Trump saw their shares decline to 31% and 33%, respectively.

The son and namesake of the assassinated Democratic New York senator and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is from a family deeply rooted in American politics. This well-known name seems to be resonating with voters; the same poll reported more respondents with a favorable view of Kennedy than an unfavorable one.

Although Kennedy has struggled to make significant progress against the Democratic front-runner, he has attracted some Democratic voters and could potentially draw support from Republicans too.

For his second-quarter filings, Kennedy reportedly raised a total of $6 million for his campaign, with $3 million accumulated in just three days.
